Improving Outcomes Through Planning and Implementing
SUCCESSFUL GRADUATION PLANNING provides school environments in which all students feel valued and see the connection between daily studies and a plan for successful postsecondary education or high quality employment. Utilizing nationally recognized evidence-based dropout and graduation rate improvement strategies, district or other school teams can create a Graduation Rate Improvement Plan (GRIP) by (1) assessing state and local graduation and dropout rates and post school outcomes, (2) reviewing the evidence-based graduation rate improvement practices, (3) assessing the extent to which students have exposure to these practices, (4) reviewing high quality resources and lesson plans, and (5) selecting “high priority” practices to implement through a graduation rate improvement plan. These efforts will positively impact local school completion and graduation rates.
